Winston Churchill

Winston Churchill warned of the Nazis and was against Adolf Hitler. Unlike many prime ministers in his time period, he was elected as prime minister of Great Britain in the 1940's. He became prime minister on May 10, 1940, on the same day the German Blitzkrieg invasion of France started. Great Britain was under German invasion and attack, Germany had submarines around Great Britain etc. Churchill became a wartime leader and was nicknamed "the British lion". He had a strong alliance with the US. His morality and spirit was admired by the British people.
